I don’t know about you, but this summer felt especially muggy and miserable! When it’s hot, I reach for certain health and beauty items to help me look and feel my best, whether it’s indoors or out.
I kept a handy dandy list of summer skincare and beauty favorites that I reached for over and over again in June, July, and August. Some of them smell like a trip to the beach, and others simply make me feel less melty!

Kiehl’s Better Screen UV Serum SPF 50+ Review
I haven’t always had the best luck with regular sunscreen, often finding it greasy and prone to pilling. Kiehl’s Better Screen UV Serum bypasses all of that with a solution that’s part sunscreen, part moisturizer, and part serum packed with skin-pampering ingredients. The white cream applies clear and absorbs fast, delivering collagen peptides and UV protection, while providing a weightless barrier that feels like a makeup primer. I wore this on its own all day and my skin had a nice glow. On days when I used makeup, my foundation and concealer did not interfere with the serum.

Skylar Lime Sands Eau de Parfum Rollerball
Clean fragrance—literally. Formulated without harsh chemicals, the notes of Lime Sands by Skylar step forward authentically. One whiff transports you to a tropical island of citrus, coconut water, lily of the valley, and ocean air. I wasn’t able to take a beach vacation this summer, so if a fragrance can transport me in other ways, that’s saying something. The rollerball is perfect to display on a vanity or stash in your purse.

Secret Clinical Strength Antiperspirant Deodorant with Pro Hyaluronic Acid in Strawberry Fizz Review
On a sweltering day working in the garden, Secret Clinical Strength Antiperspirant played a big part in keeping underarm sweat and odor under control. The added hyaluronic acid component helps create a moisture barrier to keep pits dry and comfortable. And, as someone who only occasionally sips a bubbly strawberry soda, Secret had me at Strawberry Fizz.

Kristin Ess Ultra Rich Hair Softening Shampoo and Ultra Lightweight Conditioner Review
I have fine hair, so I don’t require heavy haircare products, especially in the summer when my scalp has an open door policy with oil! The Hair Softening Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner Set by Kristin Ess has a lightweight and gentle formula. My hair doesn’t ask for much, and this softening shampoo clarifies my roots and scalp, leaving my hair feeling cleaner for longer. I think it’s pretty cool that this set also caters to other hair types too. The fragrance even reminds me of a condo I once stayed at by the ocean.

Yardley Disposable Washcloths with Aloe Vera, Chamomile, and Vitamin E
Supersized pre-moistened washcloths by Yardley are ideal for quick touch-ups when you can’t shower right away. They’re alcohol-free and safe for use on the whole body, refreshing and soothing. A pack of 18 cloths lasted me all summer, and you can find them online or at the Dollar Tree.
(Alternative: these Refreshify wipes are another great pick, especially if you prefer to stock up in bulk on Amazon!)

B-Color Boba Milk Tea Lip Gloss in Chocolate
Speaking of the Dollar Tree, look for the B-Color line of budget-friendly makeup products. Their Boba Milk Tea Lip Gloss applies like most budget glosses, with just a tint of color, perfect for daily use if you don’t feel like going for a full makeup look. Little boba beads rest at the bottom of the tube, and the chocolate scent serves up a big dose of nostalgia for me. There’s just something about chocolate lip balm that brightens my day.

Ilia Skin Rewind Complexion Stick (Foundation + Concealer + Skincare) Review
Liquid foundation is something I don’t use very often in summer due to already hydrated skin paired with the heavy feeling of makeup on my face. A minimal look suits me best in summer, and if that’s your style too, this is the product for you! Ilia Skin Rewind is a vegan foundation stick that combines buildable concealing with active botanical ingredients, like butterfly lavender and winged kelp extracts. With just a few swipes on my face with fingertip blending, I feel light as a feather and ready to run a quick errand. Available in over 30 shades, Ilia Skin Rewind has become my go-to for evening out my skin tone fast.
